# Re-elect Irene Fernando — Hennepin County Commissioner, District 2

Irene Fernando was elected Hennepin County Commissioner for District 2 in 2018, re-elected in 2022, and chosen Board Chair by her colleagues in 2023. She is the first Filipino American elected to public office in Minnesota. District 2 includes North Minneapolis, Northeast Minneapolis, the North Loop, St. Anthony, Golden Valley, Medicine Lake, and southeast Plymouth. She is the only DFL- and labor-endorsed candidate in this race.
