Scott Dibble Endorses Irene Fernando for Hennepin County Commissioner - District 2
Today, State Senator Scott Dibble, District 61, announced his endorsement of Irene Fernando for Hennepin County Commissioner in District 2.
When asked to comment Dibble said, “I’m delighted to endorse Irene Fernando to be Hennepin County Commissioner in District 2. She and I share the same values when it comes to advocating for inclusion, equity, transparency, and accountability in government.” Dibble went on to say, “Irene is uniquely positioned, based on her broad range of experiences across sectors, to bring solutions to the Hennepin County Board that center on both people and results.”
Upon learning of the endorsement Irene said, “I’m to proud earn Scott Dibble’s endorsement. Senator Dibble has been an unfaltering advocate for LGBTQ communities and I look forward to working with him, fighting for human rights.”
Irene Fernando, a Harrison neighborhood resident and University of Minnesota graduate, is a candidate for Hennepin County Commissioner in District 2. The co-founder of a youth leadership non-profit headquartered in Minneapolis, Irene is also a Bush Foundation Fellow and has taught social entrepreneurship at St. Mary’s University. Currently, she works within a newer division at Thrivent leading around organizational design, culture, and talent. Irene continues to contribute to the community through multiple board and volunteer roles as well.
